For me style and fashion are a way of self expression. I wasn’t one of those girls who grew up always loving fashion. I grew up with four brothers, so caring about what I was wearing was the least of my concerns!! That all changed when I moved to Chicago about 12 years ago and then the love for fashion took hold. I loved seeing all the different ways that people dressed and all of the individual style. I loved that each neighborhood even seemed to have a fashion feel all of its own.
My love of all things fashion came at a time when I had to be frugal, creative, and thoughtful with my purchases. Although, my circumstances are different now than they were 12 years ago, I still try to keep with the same spending philosophy. I believe that there are items worth spending money on and times when I have to tell myself to “JUST WALK AWAY!”. I believe strongly in the idea of mixing high and low priced items together. I know that this is not a new philosophy, but I feel that it is the most authentic way for me to dress and convey my sense of style and fashion.
My hope is that Forever Chic inspires people to be creative with their sense of style in the same way that I have been inspired by so many others.
I feel like I finally know who I am from a style perspective. That being said, I love nothing more than starting every morning perusing all my favorite fashion blogs and sites to get their take on fashion. There are certain bloggers who can pull off or look or trend in a way that I never could, but can often inspire me to take a look at my wardrobe in a different and creative way. My hope is that Forever Chic inspires people to be creative with their sense of style in the same way that I have been inspired by so many others.
My hope is that this is just the first step in sharing my love for fashion with others! I have had this dream for a while now that I would love to have my own boutique. Forever Chic Boutique, I like the sound of it! This blog has been a dream of mine for a long time now and I was able to make this happen, so maybe the boutique is just around the corner!
Thanks for visiting!
